“Climate Skills” project empowers Tra Vinh University students with green solutions

TVU – From August 29 to 31, Tra Vinh University hosts a series of workshops for the “Climate Skills Vietnam – Seeds for Transition” project at the lecture hall of the Faculty of Agriculture and Aquaculture. The Center for Research on Climate Change Adaptation and Community Development (LOTUS Mekong) at the university organizes this initiative in collaboration with HSBC Bank and the British Council.

The program offers students an opportunity to access green knowledge and skills. Participants can also receive seed funding of up to 40 million VND per project to bring their climate change response solutions to life.

During the workshop series, more than 10 students attend a session on gender and climate change presented by Dr. Tran Thi Ngoc Bich, Vice Dean of the Institute of Environmental Science and Technology. Through this session, they learn about the fundamental concepts linking climate change and gender equality. Following the presentation, students participate in self-discovery activities and practice leadership and creative problem-solving skills. The workshops conclude with group discussions that guide students in developing project proposals to apply for the support fund.
