College of Engineering and Technology holds year-end conference

TVU – On August 7, 2025, Tra Vinh University’s College of Engineering and Technology holds a year-end conference for the 2024–2025 academic year. The conference comprehensively reviews achievements, analyzes challenges, and discusses key priorities to improve teaching quality, research, and administration in the upcoming 2025–2026 academic year.

The event includes Tra Vinh University’s vice rector, Dr. Phan Quoc Nghia, department heads and staff from across the university, as well as all leadership and staff of the College of Engineering and Technology.

Dr. Vo Phuoc Hung, Rector of the College of Engineering and Technology, opens the conference, expressing his hope that it will thoroughly assess the past year’s results and generate innovative solutions for the college’s future development.

Dr. Phan Tan Tai, Vice Rector, presents a report summarizing the 2024–2025 academic year and outlining plans for 2025–2026. The report details various aspects of teaching, highlighting increased student enrollment despite slight declines in certain programs, and identifies administrative and teaching challenges. Eleven quality objectives are set for the coming year.

The conference features five presentations:

Dr. Thach Kong Saoane (Deputy head of the Information Technology Department) discusses teaching in the digital age, analyzing the opportunities and challenges of AI in education and proposing ethical AI usage guidelines for students, along with recommendations for teaching innovation and faculty development.

Dr. Truong Van Men (Head of the Mechanical and Power Engineering Department) presents on improving curriculum development and evaluation, focusing on creating new programs while regularly reviewing existing ones.

Dr. Le Ngoc Long (Deputy head of the Chemical Engineering Department) analyzes 2024–2025 enrollment trends, pinpointing challenges and suggesting solutions.

Dr. Huynh Van Hiep (Head of the Construction Department) addresses innovation in scientific research among faculty and students in the context of digital transformation.

Dr. Nguyen Thanh Hien (Deputy head of the Electrical and Electronics Department) discusses the implementation of teaching plans and academic advising, emphasizing the advisor’s role in supporting students and outlining solutions to identified challenges.

The conference also includes broader discussions and ideas from faculty, all aiming to improve teaching quality. The College of Engineering and Technology recognizes outstanding faculty for their achievements in teaching, research, and professional development, including newly awarded PhDs. This recognition serves as an incentive for continued dedication to the college’s growth.
