(TVU) – On the morning of February 12, 2025, a delegation from the Embassy of Canada to Vietnam, led by Political Counselor Leigh McCumber, visits and engages in discussions with Tra Vinh University leadership.

Representatives from TVU, including Prof. Dr. Pham Tiet Khanh, Chairman of TVU Council and President of the Vietnam Association of Community Colleges (VACC), Assoc. Prof. Dr Diep Thanh Tung, TVU Vice-Rector and heads from various departments, welcomes the Canadian delegation.

TVU and the Embassy of Canada delegation discuss various potential cooperation projects during the meeting. These include leadership skills training for mid-level managers, environmental projects on raising water awareness and the 3R principles (Reduce – Reuse – Recycle), and a joint training program between TVU and Canadian partners on Entrepreneurship, Gender Equality, and Canadian Cultural Studies. Also, the two sides have agreed to collaborate on scientific research and pursue funding opportunities, particularly through the SEED Scholarship (Canada-ASEAN Scholarships and Educational Exchanges for Development)–a scholarship program for international students from Southeast Asia interested in short-term study and research in Canada–and the Mitacs program for Vietnam.

Both sides will refine their plans and prepare for a follow-up visit in April 2025.
