TVU – On February 12, 2025, Tra Vinh University welcomes a delegation from Southern Leyte State University (SLSU), Philippines, for a student exchange program scheduled from February 10 to May 10, 2025.
Dr. Thach Thi Dan, TVU Vice-Rector, and representatives from the relevant departments warmly welcome the SLSU delegation, which is comprised of Dr. Leslie Elisa S. Cobilla and six students from various academic disciplines.
Participating in the exchange program at TVU, the SLSU students will have opportunities to study and gain hands-on experience at various departments within the university, such as the International Education Institute, Victory Center for Information Technology and Foreign Languages, Nguyen Thien Thanh High School for the Gifted, and Trà Vinh Laboratory School.
Speaking at the welcome ceremony, Dr. Thach Thi Dan emphasizes that maintaining and developing cooperation with SLSU enhances training quality and provides students from both institutions with international learning experiences.
Dr. Leslie Elisa S. Cobilla, an SLSU faculty member, expresses her gratitude to TVU for its warm welcome and for providing a supportive learning and living environment for SLSU students. She hopes to expand future collaborations to create more international learning and exchange opportunities for students from both universities.
Program participant Bonita Jessa Mae S. shared her excitement about the opportunity to study and gain practical experience at TVU. She hopes to expand her specialized knowledge, develop teaching skills, and immerse herself in meaningful cultural experiences at Tra Vinh.
SLSU students will attend orientation sessions, exchange sessions with TVU students, local culture exploration activities, and many other extracurricular activities as part of the program. Most notably, they will gain insights into Vietnam’s education system and teaching methodologies and have the chance to practice teaching at the host departments.
The student exchange program between TVU and SLSU provides academic value, strengthens bilateral ties, and opens up further development opportunities.
