TVU – On October 9, 2024, at Tra Vinh University, Tra Vinh King Sejong Institute organized the Hangeul Day and Korean Culture Festival 2024 to celebrate the 578th anniversary of Hangeul Day (October 9, 1446 – October 9, 2024).
The event takes place from 14:00 to 17:30, with various booths and activities. It attracts many students in different majors to participate and experience, creating a lively and interesting space.
Students can experience Korean culture at the event by participating in Korean folk games, enjoying Korean cuisine, wearing Hanbok, and especially exchanging and learning about Korean culture.
Huynh Bao Tran, a student in Medicine, class of 2024, shared, “I like the bustling atmosphere of this festival. This is also a great opportunity to learn more about Korean culture and interact with those with common interests.” In addition to the booths, the program also has special performances, small competitions, and other enjoyable interactive activities.
The Hangeul Day and Korean Culture Festival 2024 allow the Korean-loving community in Tra Vinh to exchange and promote Korean culture to many young people.
This event is not only to honor the Korean cultural and linguistic heritage but also an opportunity for students and lecturers of Korean Studies in Vietnam to learn, exchange, and experience the profound cultural values of the neighboring country.
Hangeul Day is held annually to commemorate the birth of the Hangeul writing system invented by King Sejong. It is an important holiday for Koreans and an opportunity to honor the development of language and culture.
