TVU – Two Tra Vinh University students, Pham Tran Yen Vy and Vo Hanh Nhung, are making waves in Seoul after winning the 2024 Korean Speaking and Writing Contest. The pair now represents their university in the contest finals during an exchange program in the South Korean capital.
The 2024 Korean Speaking and Writing Contest, organized by the Tra Vinh King Sejong Institute with sponsorship from the King Sejong Institute Foundation in South Korea, saw outstanding performances from Vy and Nhung. Both are English Language majors at Tra Vinh University’s CLASKA and active learners at the Tra Vinh King Sejong Institute. Vy secured first prize in the Writing category, while Nhung claimed second place in speaking.
As a result of their exceptional achievements, the King Sejong Institute Foundation has funded a week-long academic exchange and cultural experience in Seoul for Vy and Nhung, running from October 6 to 12. A notable accomplishment is that Vy’s essay was selected for the final round of the 2024 Korean Speaking and Writing Contest in Seoul, bringing honor to Tra Vinh University.
Both students describe their participation in the contest as a significant milestone in their Korean language learning journey. Despite the intense mental and physical demands, they gained invaluable experiences and prestigious accomplishments. Their success highlights the passion for foreign languages and global integration among Tra Vinh University students, inspiring other young people striving to broaden their international knowledge and cultural understanding.
