TVU – Tra Vinh University marks a significant milestone in its environmental education program. It receives state-of-the-art wastewater treatment equipment from Korean industry leader Aquaworks in a ceremony held on October 18.

The high-profile event brings together key figures from both institutions. The Aquaworks delegation, led by Mr. Kang Jae Hyoung, Advisor of International Business Development, includes senior executives Mr. Ahn Sooje, Ms. Lee Gayoung, and Mr. Dinh Cong Son. TVU’s representation is headed by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Diep Thanh Tung, Vice Rector, along with department leaders and key administrative staff.

Dr. Tung expresses profound gratitude in his address for donating this modern equipment, emphasizing TVU’s commitment to integrating technology into its teaching curriculum. He views this collaboration as a stepping stone to broader research and educational partnerships between the institutions.

Mr. Kang Jae Hyoung highlights the strategic importance of this donation, stating that the equipment will provide hands-on experience with cutting-edge technology for TVU’s staff and students. He emphasizes that this initiative aims to advance water treatment technology while strengthening Korean-Vietnamese cooperation.

The donated system will serve multiple purposes at TVU, including display and trial operation, scientific research, teaching and practical training, technical and technological research models, and the study of clean water solutions for the Mekong Delta region.

This partnership addresses critical environmental challenges facing Vietnam, particularly the issues of acid water and saltwater contamination in the Mekong Delta. The collaboration extends beyond equipment donation to include human resource training, enabling TVU to expand its educational programs.

Aquaworks, based in Daegu, Korea, brings its reputation as a pioneer in water environment technology to this partnership. The company’s expertise in membrane-based water treatment and recycling technologies positions TVU at the forefront of environmental education in Vietnam.
