Lecturers of Tra Vinh University receive scholarships from the Chinese Government

TVU – Recently, in Hanoi, the Chinese Embassy in Vietnam awarded scholarships from the Chinese Government to 76 Vietnamese students.

This year, the Chinese Government scholarships were awarded to 48 undergraduates, 06 graduates, and 22 doctoral students studying various majors in 17 provinces and cities across China.

In particular, 03 lecturers from the School of Southern Khmer Language – Culture – Arts and Humanities of Tra Vinh University received the scholarships, including MSc. Thach Se Ha, majoring in Linguistics and Applied Linguistics at Nanjing Normal University with a training period from 2024 to 2029; MSc. Huynh Thi Kim Ngan, majoring in Education at Harbin Normal University with a training period from 2024 to 2028; and MSc. Le Phuong Duy majored in International Chinese Education at Hunan Normal University and had a training period from 2024 to 2029.

According to the Department of International Cooperation (Ministry of Education and Training), the Chinese Government exempts tuition fees, arranges accommodation, and provides health insurance, study materials, and monthly scholarships according to the regulations of the Chinese Government.

Mr. Thach Se Ha, Lecturer of the Faculty of Southern Khmer Language – Culture – Arts, one of 76 Vietnamese candidates receiving the Chinese Government Scholarship to Nanjing Normal University, hoped that after studying in China, he could contribute to the overall development of Tra Vinh University. He shared: “The Chinese Government Scholarship (CSC) is one of the most prestigious scholarships sponsored by the Chinese Government for international students. It is my great honor to receive this scholarship. It is an opportunity to improve my expertise and access an advanced educational environment, opening up many new prospects for my development and professional improvement. The knowledge and experience I have gained will help me contribute positively to the overall development of Tra Vinh University, especially in developing interdisciplinary training programs and improving teaching quality. Studying in China aligns with the school’s development orientation, especially when the School of Southern Khmer Language – Culture – Arts & Humanities has just been established and successfully performed the national key task of training human resources in Southern Khmer Language – Culture – Arts.”

The China Scholarship Council (CSC) is a scholarship program sponsored by the Chinese Government to support international students to study at universities and other higher education institutions in China. CSC offers full and partial scholarships to encourage diversity and cultural exchanges between China and other countries.

The Ministry of Education of China manages the scholarship to promote learning exchanges and cooperation between China and countries worldwide in scientific and technological research and economic, cultural, and social affairs.

Tra Vinh University always creates conditions for lecturers to study and research abroad to improve the quality of teaching, research, and educational innovation. Being sent to study and work in an international academic environment is not only an opportunity for lecturers to expand their knowledge and improve their professional qualifications but also a bridge to connect with the academic community of other countries, contributing to the deeper integration of the University. When returning, lecturers will bring new knowledge and experience to contribute to the construction and development of the University, improving the quality of training.
