Microcredit Project for Tra Vinh province’s poor people has started its phase 4

(TVU)  – Within the project scope, “the Phase-4 Micro-credit Project for the poor people in Tra Vinh province” has just started with the total 750 million VND to be offered to 100 households under the fund support of the Vietnamese Heritage Institute (VHI), Charity Fund of Tra Vinh province, and the project management of Tra Vinh University (TVU).

Households have been supported funds in phase 4 basing on the set criteria, in which Hoa Loi village, Hung My village, Luong Hoa village, Chau Dien village and Ward 7 of Tra Vinh province have been chosen in this phase. The ultimate goal of this project aims at poverty alleviation toward a better life for local people in Tra Vinh province.

Mr. Lam Hoang Loc, Chairman of Charity Fund of Tra Vinh province hoped that the project will support more funds for local people in the next phases to offer them more opportunity in household economic activity.

As reported from the three previous phases within six years of implementation, the project has helped the poor people improve their livelihoods and contribute to households’ sustainable economy.

Dr. Nguyen Tien Dung-Vice Chairman of TVU Advisory Council, on behalf of the Project Management Unit said: “The project will start its 4th phase with the fund support from the VHI and the Charity Fund of Tra Vinh province. In addition, TVU School of Agri-aquaculture will continue providing households with its technical assistance, contributing to the success of the project”. He also gave his big thanks to sponsors and hoped that the project will make its good progress in the next phase.
