New sports teaching and training facility unveiled at Tra Vinh University

(TVU) – Tra Vinh University inaugurates and opens its new sports teaching and training facility on October 12.

The ceremony is attended by Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Quang Vinh, Vice Rector of Ho Chi Minh City University of Physical Education and Sports, and Mr. Nguyen Thanh Trung, Director of Trung Ngoc Sports Complex in Tra Vinh province.

Representing Tra Vinh University are Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Minh Hoa, Rector; Dr. Thach Thi Dan, Vice Rector; Associate Professor Dr. Diep Thanh Tung, Vice Rector; and Dr. Lieu Thanh Tam, Dean of the Faculty of Physical Education, along with other university leaders and students.

In his congratulatory speech, Rector Nguyen Minh Hoa expresses gratitude to the construction team for swiftly completing the project, providing students with facilities for learning, competing, and improving both physical and mental health. He encourages students to maximize the use of these facilities outside class hours to enhance their physical fitness, contributing to the overall quality of teaching and learning.

The sports teaching and training facility, which broke ground on June 7, 2024, includes a 754-square-meter competition hall, a 790-square-meter tennis court, roads, and a drainage system. The total investment amounts to 5.7 billion VND, with construction carried out by a Van Dat Thanh Construction Investment Co., Ltd. consortium and Design and Construction Joint Stock Company 99.

This new facility marks a step forward in Tra Vinh University’s efforts to enhance its infrastructure and modernize classrooms, laboratories, and libraries. It also aligns with the government’s comprehensive plan to develop physical education and school sports for 2016-2020, with a vision towards 2025, meeting the requirements for improved training quality and expanded educational scale.

During the event, the School of Physical Education announces the establishment of several sports clubs, including Men’s Football, Women’s Football, Volleyball, Petanque, and Pickleball.
