(TVU) – On November 18, 2023, Tra Vinh University organizes the Opening Ceremony of the 2023 – 2024 academic year and the Celebration Meeting of the 41st Anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers’ Day (November 20, 1982 – November 20, 2023).

Dr. Thach Thi Dan, Vice-Rector of the University reads the New Year greetings letter from the President and the letter congratulating Vietnamese Teachers’ Day on November 20 from the Chairman of Tra Vinh Provincial People’s Committee on the occasion of the new school year opening and the 41st anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers’ Day at Tra Vinh University.
On this occasion, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Hoa, Rector of Tra Vinh University reviews the achievements of the university in the 2022 – 2023 academic year and sets out key goals and tasks for the new 2023 – 2024 academic year and the following years.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Hoa said: In the 2022 – 2023 academic year, Tra Vinh University’s staff made outstanding efforts when the university successively had 15 training programs accredited with international quality standards. It is the university in the Mekong Delta region with the most training programs accredited with international quality standards according to AUN-QA, FIBAA and ABET standards; continuing to rise to 43rd in the Top 100 of WURI Ranking 2023, a university with influence and positive contribution to society (up 19 places compared to 2022). At the same time, ranking 11th in the Top 50 in terms of the value of entrepreneurship and innovation; ranking 34th in the Top 50 in terms of expanding cooperation and exchange of international students, opportunities for student exchange between foreign educational institutions, ranking 18th in the Top 50 in open connection, digital transformation and integrated applications, ranking 29th in the top 50 in terms of managing fluctuations and sustainable development, ranking 49th in the top 50 in terms of ethical value and 45th in the top 50 in terms of application of science and technology; For many consecutive years in the Top 200 green sustainable universities, UI GreenMetric Ranking. The university has applied the ISO 9001-2000 quality management system since 2006, ISO 9001-2008, ISO 9001-2015; Many students have achieved high results in science and technology examinations, startup competitions and innovation, etc.
The Rector sends congratulations to over 20,000 students from all over the country and Cambodian international students studying at the University. The University welcomes the students embarking on a new journey at TVU, hoping that the students will continue to strive to become the pride of their families and society, starting dreams and building their future.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Hoa continues to call on all officials, employees, students and pupils of the University to aim at the goal of developing Tra Vinh University according to the model of advanced universities, every TVU member is a soldier, united to steer the TVU ship out to the open sea, jointly building the increasingly strong and sustainable brand and position of Tra Vinh University.
Speaking at the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thien Nhan, former Member of the Politburo, former Deputy Prime Minister, former Minister of Education and Training, former Secretary of Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee commends the training efforts of the University, especially the work of improving expertise in teaching, learning and research. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thien Nhan emphasizes three main things that need to be achieved for a university: (1) The importance of strengthening foreign language teaching and learning in the context of integration; (2) Application of IT, scientific and technological advances in teaching, research and learning; (3) Improving the quality of human resources. He is very happy today that the above three contents have been outstandingly developed by the University. On the occasion of the new school year opening, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thien Nhan continues to send to the university staff the need to make more efforts, especially paying attention to the mission of education towards the community and learning society.
On this occasion, TVU announces the certification of quality accreditation for the Bachelor of Dental degree training program meeting the quality standards of education recognized by the Ministry of Education and Training; Medical Laboratory Technology and Pharmacy degree programs certified by AUN-QA international standards and announces the Brand Identity of Tra Vinh University.
On this occasion, the University honors and awards certificates of merit and rewards to Valedictorians and Salutatorians of the 2023 – 2024 academic year including Thach Thanh Truong – valedictorian, former student of Tra Vinh Provincial Boarding High School for Ethnic Minorities, and salutatorian Pham Tran Nha Phuong, former student of Pham Thanh Trung High School, Tien Giang province.
In the atmosphere of welcoming the new school year, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thien Nhan awards 35 Professor Nguyen Thien Thanh scholarships to poor students at Tra Vinh University, with a total value of 140 million VND. Over the past 13 years, the scholarship fund has awarded 4,664 scholarships to students in the province with a total of more than 5.5 billion VND.
On the occasion of the opening ceremony of the 2023 – 2024 academic year, sponsors, domestic and foreign scientists, individuals, organizations, businesses and overseas Vietnamese contribute and award 387 scholarships for poor students with a total of about 1.8 billion VND.
On this occasion, Tra Vinh University is honored to receive the Certificate of Merit from the Minister of Education and Training for its positive contribution in supporting startup students from now to 2025 and the Certificate of Merit commending digital transformation achievements in 2022 and 2023. Besides, 03 individuals are awarded the Third Class Labor Medal (Mr. Nguyen Minh Trung, Head of Inspection and Legal Affairs Office; Ms. Nguyen Hong Ung, Faculty of Agriculture – Aquaculture; Ms. Tieu Ngoc Linh, Deputy Head of Finance Department) and 06 individuals receive the Prime Minister’s Certificate of Merit (Ms. Lam Thi Bach Tuyet, Dean of Education Faculty; Ms. Nguyen Kim Trong, Center for Teaching Development and Learning Resources; Ms. Tran Thi Tuyet Hanh, Center for Training Social Work Health Human Resources; Mr. Pham Bao Nguyen, Faculty of Agriculture – Aquaculture; Ms. Duong Thi Chieu, Faculty of Engineering & Technology; Ms. Tran Thi Cam Dao, Finance Department). At the same time, the University honors Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thai Son as the first scientist at Tra Vinh University to achieve an H-index = 15, an index evaluating the influence of a scientist or scholar based on the number of published papers and citations.
