This project provides scholarships for female students from disadvantaged families at Tra Vinh University. The project is assigned to Tra Vinh University for implementation by the Tra Vinh Provincial People’s Committee for 2024-2028.

The project aims to contribute to training female workers with professional qualifications and skills to create stable incomes for themselves and their families. At the same time, these students contribute to community and social development and help eliminate barriers related to gender stereotypes and social discrimination.

According to the report, in the first semester of the 2024-2025 academic year, the Project Management Board provides educational expenses for 70 female students from disadvantaged families studying at Tra Vinh University, totalling 560 million VND. Four training sessions are organized to equip students with essential soft skills such as communication skills, emotional management, health care, personal development, and more.

Dr. Thach Thi Dan – Vice President of Tra Vinh University and Head of the Project Management Board, states: “With non-refundable aid capital of more than 3.28 billion VND, equivalent to 138.8 thousand USD, the beneficiaries of the project are female students from disadvantaged backgrounds who have strong will and determination in pursuing education, with motivation to study to escape poverty. The project contributes to creating a female workforce with professional qualifications, contributing to the overall development of Tra Vinh province and the places where they live and work.”

On this occasion, Saigon Children’s Charity CIO and Mr. Thomas Lawrence Monroe, Program Director, meet and interact with 70 female students, tour Tra Vinh University, visit part-time workplaces of the students, and meet with and encourage female students with disabilities who are benefiting from the project.
