After 100 years of establishement and development, Southern Khmer Du ke Drama Arts play an important role in Vietnamese traditional arts. As its unique values, the special arts have fallen into Vietnamese people’s hearts in general and Khmer persons’ in particular.
The Arts have been listed as one of cultural heritages by Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and it is going to be submitted to UNESCO for its internationally cultural heritage recognition.
To have clearer and deeper understanding about its interesting origin and outstandingly developmental history as well as to figure out practical orientation and appropriate solutions for its preservation and promotion, the scientific workshop on “Southern Khmer Du ke Drama Arts, Nationally Cultural Heritage” will be held on November 12, 2013 at Tra Vinh University located in the city of Tra Vinh, a beautiful green city of trees, parks, rice fields, and rivers in Vietnam’s Mekong Delta by Southwest Steering Committee, Department of Ethnic and Religious Affairs, VTV Can Tho, Tra Vinh Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Tra Vinh University (TVU).
