(TVU) – On February 18, Tra Vinh University held a conference to summarize startup support activities in 2024 and announce the startup support program for 2025. The event attracted many leaders, lecturers, and university students.
Leaders of provincial departments and branches and representatives of institutes, universities, and colleges in the Mekong Delta region and Ho Chi Minh City attended the conference. On the side of the leaders of TVU, there were Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Minh Hoa, Rector; Assoc.Prof.Dr. Diep Thanh Tung, Vice-Rector and Mr. Nguyen Van Vu An, Director of the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship and Director of the Tra Vinh Provincial Business Incubator.
In 2024, with the support from the Steering Committee of the Provincial Startup Support Project, the startup support activities of the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship of TVU received active support from the Steering Committee for implementing the Tra Vinh Provincial Startup Support Project. Since then, the Center’s startup support activities have gone in-depth, and the entrepreneurial spirit has been widely spread among students throughout the school. Students actively participate in innovation and entrepreneurial activities, including Startup Clubs, Online Business Clubs, and AI Clubs; deploy to members and support the Center in organization and logistics work. School students participate in startup competitions in and outside the province and win over 20 awards. From there, the role of TVU in the startup ecosystem of Tra Vinh province is increasingly affirmed.

In 2025, TVU sets the goal of “Spirit of ownership, comprehensive support, innovation, connection, efficiency” as the guiding principle for startup support activities. Seven key targets have been set, including: (1) Inspiring the entrepreneurial spirit of at least 300,000 students. (2) Training knowledge and skills of innovative startups for at least 60 staff and lecturers teaching the startup subject and at least 2,000 students. (3) Publishing at least 01 monograph to serve the training of innovative startups. (4) Organizing at least 05 activities and events connecting with domestic and foreign organizations, experts, and successful alumni to create conditions and opportunities for startup projects to access leading experts, advisors, and related support organizations to seek solutions and connections necessary for startup projects. (5) Searching and advising the school to sign cooperation agreements with at least 10 units and organizations that incubate and promote domestic and international startups to create the most favourable conditions for students to start a business after graduation. (6) Organizing 01 program connecting experts – incubating community inventions. (7) Organizing 01 training program to improve innovative startups’ capacity for ecosystem components.
For the goals set for 2025, the conference created an open forum where delegates, students, and pupils listened to valuable sharing from leading experts and scientists in innovative startups. Within the framework of the conference, Tra Vinh University signed a memorandum of understanding with 04 important partners, marking a new step forward in building a solid startup support network. On this occasion, the Center for Innovative Startups and Entrepreneurship of TVU launched the E-commerce Club with nearly 20 core members, headed by student Thach Van Duy of the General Business Administration University class. It is a potential club for young people to exchange knowledge and skills on e-commerce. Tra Vinh Provincial Business Incubator has newly recruited 03 Provincial Startup Advisory Council members. At the same time, Tra Vinh University awarded certificates of merit to 7 groups and 2 individuals with achievements in the “Green Innovation – Healthy Living” contest and the “Startup Ideas and Projects of Tra Vinh Province in 2024” contest.
