TVU – On January 11, 2025, the Trade Union of Tra Vinh University held a Tet Cake Wrapping Competition, a meaningful activity to welcome the New Year 2025 and commemorate the 95th Anniversary of the Founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930 – February 3, 2025).
The competition proudly welcomed members of the Jury Board, including Dr. Nguyen Thi Bach Van, Director of the Tra Vinh Department of Education and Training; Ms. Le Thi Thu Hong, Head of Information and Legal Policy at the Tra Vinh Women’s Union; and Ms. Kim Thi Thanh Xuan, Deputy Head of Information and Women’s Union of the Tra Vinh Labor Confederation.
Representing Tra Vinh University were Dr. Thach Thi Dan, Vice Rector; Mr. Pham Quoc Khanh, Deputy Head of the Department of Student Affairs, along with 35 competing teams from various trade unions, departmental groups, youth unions, student associations, and numerous enthusiastic students from across the campus.
In her opening remarks, Dr. Thach Thi Dan expressed gratitude to the sponsoring organizations and partners in organizing the event. She emphasized that the competition serves as a creative and joyful playground and an opportunity for faculty and students to demonstrate solidarity and connection. This activity enriches the cultural and spiritual life of the faculty and students at the University.
After the competition rules were announced, participants began to showcase their cake-wrapping skills with dexterity and precision. Under the skilled hands of the contestants, the Tet cakes emerged in various shapes, sizes, and colors, creating an atmosphere of excitement and enthusiasm. The teams creatively presented their creations, leaving a lasting impression. The Jury Board meticulously evaluated each cake based on appearance, quality, and cultural significance.
The competition identified the most outstanding teams. In the trade union category, the First Prize went to the School of Engineering and Technology for their intricately decorated cakes, which successfully blended traditional and modern elements. The Second and Third Prizes were awarded to the CLASKA Youth Union and Trade Union No. 13, respectively.
In the student association category, the First Prize was awarded to the Tra Vinh City Student Association; the Second Prize went to the Cang Long District Student Association; and the Third Prize was awarded to the Provincial Student Association. The competition was a vibrant playground and an occasion for the participating teams to express their love and appreciation for traditional culture.
