When approaching the Vietnam-Canada Community College Development Project, the local authorities utilized precious support from the Canadian government, partners, central and local ministries and departments, enhancing the quality of education and training, and creating opportunities for the younger generation. The project brought about significant changes for the local area, starting with financial support for building vocational education infrastructure, training experts for management, developing teaching staff, providing opportunities for students and lecturers to access scholarships to study in Canada, purchasing equipment, sharing educational management experience, organizing the training process, developing programs, and managing the university.

The success of the project is a significant turning point, marking the strong development of the education and training system in the Mekong Delta, exemplified by the establishment of Tra Vinh University, a symbol of cooperation between Vietnam and Canada.

Dr. Nguyen Tien Dung, former Vice-Rector of Tra Vinh Community College, one of the key figures in the project’s implementation and the development of the university, and Deputy Chairman of the University Council of Tra Vinh University, said that the Vietnam-Canada Community College Development Project (2001-2006) made a significant and especially important contribution to the high-quality human resources training and the development of Tra Vinh Community College into Tra Vinh University today.
