TVU – On the evening of December 12, Tra Vinh University’s College of Southern Khmer Language – Culture – Arts and Humanities (CLASKA) and the School of Foreign Languages host the 2024 Get Together music night with the theme “The Wave de Printemps.” The event attracts a large number of students and international volunteers.

Dr. Thach Thi Dan, Vice Rector of Tra Vinh University; Dr. Ngo So Phe, Rector of CLASKA; leaders of departments under Tra Vinh University; sponsors; lecturers; volunteers; alumni; and nearly 1,000 students participate and cheer.

During her welcome address, Dr. Thach Thi Dan expressed her appreciation to the benefactors for providing students with valuable scholarships. Additionally, she extended her warmest Christmas greetings to all university staff, lecturers, students, international students, volunteers, and experts currently employed or volunteering.

Dr. Nguyen Thi Phuong Nam, Vice Rector of CLASKA, emphasized that the annual Get Together music program has attracted many students over its 21-year history.

The Get Together music night is an annual event intended to establish a meaningful and pleasant environment for students who are enthusiastic about languages. It encourages their passion for studying and speaking other languages, improves departmental links, and advances academic and cultural exchange at Tra Vinh University.

Students have the chance to learn and practice different languages in this program. Through performances, it promotes the utilization of various languages, such as English, Chinese, French, Korean, and Khmer. In authentic contexts, students acquire the ability to communicate effectively.

The theme “The Wave de Printemps” creates a lively and upbeat atmosphere through multilingual tunes and contemporary, youthful, and inspiring dance and art performances. These activities facilitate integrating and demonstrating new foreign language students’ dynamic and creative spirit while nurturing a multilingual learning community and enhancing student connections through cultural and artistic activities.

Simultaneously, the event provides diverse language learning and practice opportunities, such as singing, dancing, plays, modern dance, and fashion shows. These performances bring about the festive atmosphere that precedes Christmas and the New Year 2025, organized and staged by Faculty of Foreign Languages students.

La Ngoc Hue, a 2021 Chinese Language Class student, stated: “The Get Together music program fosters connections among students through meaningful activities, providing a playground for interaction, learning, and practising foreign language skills.”

On this occasion, Tra Vinh University awards 85 scholarships to students facing financial difficulties but excelling in studies and training during the 2024–2025 academic year. These scholarships, valued at a total of 270 million VND, were sponsored by the Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam – Tra Vinh Branch; pharmacist Phan Minh Tinh; Mr. O Dan Phat; the Young Entrepreneurs Club of Ho Chi Minh City Family; and Prof. Dr. Tumis Savas, Academic Advisor of the Faculty of Foreign Languages and CLASKA.
