The volunteer program offers chargeless haircuts at the Social Protection Center of Tra Vinh Province and retirement home

(TVU) – On January 23, 2023, the Center of Community Support of Tra Vinh University organizes a volunteer program to provide free haircuts for orphans, lonely elderly individuals, and mental health patients at the Social Protection Center of Tra Vinh Province and the Lien Buu pagoda’s retirement home in Chau Thanh District, Tra Vinh Province.

M.A. Phung Thi Phuong Khanh, Director of the Center of Community Support, said: The volunteer program is a simple, warm, and loving activity that brings out the beauty of appearance for children, lonely elderly individuals, and mental health patients with difficult circumstances on the occasion of the upcoming Wood Dragon’s Lunar New Year, demonstrating the deep care and concern of Tra Vinh University for the community.






At the program, over 40 orphaned children, lonely elderly individuals, and mental health patients with particularly difficult circumstances at the Social Protection Center of Tra Vinh Province and the Lien Buu pagoda’s retirement home receive gratis haircuts and head washes.

Ms. Le Thi Tu Anh, Deputy Director of the Social Protection Center of Tra Vinh Province, thanks Tra Vinh University for bringing joy and meaningful celebrations to the children and elderly individuals and hopes that these volunteer activities for the community will continue to spread and develop further in the future.

Ms. Truong Thi Cam Nhien, owner of Nhien Hair Salon on Pham Ngu Lao Street in Tra Vinh Province, shared: By participating in the hair-cutting and community service activities, the team members have contributed a small part to helping the children, elderly, and mental health patients gain more motivation in life and enjoy a warm Tet holiday.
