Tra Vinh Charity Fund awards nearly 1 billion VND in scholarships

(TVU) – The Tra Vinh Department of Education and Training, in collaboration with the Tra Vinh Study Encouragement Association and the Tra Vinh Tri Tue Charity Fund, presents scholarships to disadvantaged yet high-achieving students from 34 high schools and various vocational, college, and university institutions, both within and outside the province. The ceremony takes place at Tra Vinh University on October 10, 2024.

Notable attendees include Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuan Thanh, Standing Vice Chairwoman of the Tra Vinh Provincial Fatherland Front Committee; representatives from the Tra Vinh Department of Education and Training; Ms. Nguyen Thi Kha, Chairwoman of the Tra Vinh Study Encouragement Association; and Ms. Lam Hoang Vu Nguyen, Founder and Vice Chairwoman of the Tri Tue Charity Fund. Also present are Mr. Nguyen Ba Hieu, former Vice Chairman of Tra Vinh People’s Committee and Vice Chairman of the Tri Tue Charity Fund Management Board; Ms. Bui Tuyet Hong, Vice Chairwoman of Tra Vinh Union of Science and Technology Associations; district education officials; and 410 scholarship recipients. Dr. Phan Quoc Nghia, Vice Rector of Tra Vinh University, represents the host institution.

In her speech, Ms. Nguyen Thi Kha acknowledges the Tri Tue Charity Fund’s contributions to underprivileged students in Tra Vinh. Founded by Mr. Lam Hoang Loc’s family, natives of Tra Vinh, the fund marks its 11th consecutive year of collaboration with local education authorities. Ms. Kha emphasizes how this timely support ignites dreams and motivates students to overcome challenges, contributing to Tra Vinh’s vision of a lifelong learning society in the era of international integration.

The Tri Tue Charity Fund distributes 410 scholarships totaling 970 million VND. This includes 300 scholarships of 2 million VND each for high school students, 10 for Pali Intermediate School students, and 25 for Tra Vinh Vocational College learners. 75 university students from Tra Vinh University, Can Tho University, and Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy receive 4 million VND each.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Yen Nhi, a student from Nguyen Thien Thanh Specialized High School, expresses gratitude on behalf of the recipients. She describes the scholarships as a significant motivation for students to pursue their educational journey and pledges to strive for academic excellence and personal growth.

Mr. Luong Trung, Vice Principal of Bui Huu Nghia High School in Cang Long district, deeply appreciates the Tri Tue Charity Fund. He emphasizes that these scholarships hold material and spiritual value, alleviating financial burdens for families and inspiring students to achieve better academic and personal development results over the years.
