Tra Vinh University achieves international accreditation for 4 more programs

TVU – Tra Vinh University has recently achieved AUN-QA international accreditation for four more educational programs: Food Technology, Early Childhood Education, English Linguistics, and Master’s in Cultural Studies. This brings the total number of TVU’s internationally accredited programs (AUN, FIBAA, ABET) to 19, positioning the university as one of the top institutions in the Mekong Delta region with numerous internationally accredited training programs.

Previously, Tra Vinh University had 07 training programs meeting AUN-QA standards, including Pharmacy, Medical Laboratory Technology, Nursing, Khmer Language, Agriculture, Aquaculture, and Veterinary Medicine. 07 programs achieved FIBAA international education quality accreditation, including Business Administration, Economics, Accounting, Banking and Finance, Law, Master of Business Administration, and Master of Economic Management. 01 Information Technology program achieved ABET quality accreditation, and the University continues to pursue quality accreditation for its remaining training programs in the coming time.

Education experts suggest that for any university, when international organizations accredit a training program, it signifies international recognition of the training quality, meeting high-quality assurance conditions in terms of facilities, standard faculty, advanced training programs, and active teaching methods. This helps learners develop their potential and meet increasingly high business recruitment requirements. As a result, students studying in these AUN-QA, FIBAA, and ABET-accredited programs at TVU find many advantages when seeking employment, integrating into the international labor market, and developing themselves well.

In addition, the University has been ranked in the Top 200 universities with green educational environments and sustainable development investments for many consecutive years, according to the UI GreenMetric Ranking. For the 5th consecutive year, Tra Vinh University continues to climb in the top 100 universities with real impact (WURI), as announced by the World University Alliance. Accordingly, Tra Vinh University continues to rise in 2024, ranking 42nd in the Top 100 WURI Ranking of schools with positive influence and contribution to society. Notably, in the ranking of 13 component indicator groups, the University is ranked at the top of the culture and innovation promotion index – B5 (WURI Culture/Value), Top 10 in artificial intelligence application – A7 (Generative AI Application), Top 15 in mobilizing investment in education – B2 (Funding).

At the same time, the University actively considers potential social impacts in its training programs to update them appropriately according to labor market requirements, with the participation of stakeholders, especially students and the business community. The school expands Co-op training programs with businesses, provides training according to orders, and promotes international standard education quality accreditation, helping learners access advanced world education and gain competitive advantages in the international labor market. Students have opportunities for internships or participation in international research projects, receive scholarships for studying abroad, or participate in student exchange programs.

The University conducts teaching and research activities to preserve, promote, and develop the language, culture, and art of the Southern Khmer ethnic community. It organizes display spaces for traditional cultural products, nurturing love for the traditional culture and language of the ethnic group. At the same time, the school incorporates environmental protection education into the curriculum through various forms, such as introducing environmental protection skills topics into the soft skills training program for full-time students, considering this as a module in the training program. In addition, the school organizes diverse extracurricular activities and events, seminars, and competitions related to the environment, encouraging students to participate in environmental protection activities.

The University has policies for tuition fee exemptions and reductions, scholarships to encourage learning, sponsorship scholarships from domestic and foreign businesses and philanthropists, subsidies for students with difficult circumstances, those overcoming challenges, ethnic minority students, and implements student loan policies for study, support research projects, and nurtures startup ideas.
