TVU – Tra Vinh University is taking significant strides in fostering global entrepreneurship by launching an innovative Entrepreneurship Sharing Program on June 13, 2024. This dynamic initiative brings faculty and students from TVU and Nova Scotia Community College (NSCC) Canada, creating a vibrant cross-cultural exchange and entrepreneurial development platform.
The program, a cornerstone of the ongoing student and faculty exchange partnership between the two institutions, engages nearly 45 TVU students, 6 NSCC students, and faculty members from both schools. This collaborative effort aims to cultivate community-oriented entrepreneurial ideas and spirit among Vietnamese and Canadian students.
Key attendees at the NSCC opening ceremony include Ms. Kellie McMullin, head of international cooperation, faculty members Mr. Stephen Barrett and Ms. Manal Sasel, and six participating NSCC students.
The Entrepreneurship Exchange Program, initiated in 2016, continues to strengthen the bonds between TVU and NSCC. It catalyzes expanding cooperation, fostering friendship, and facilitating cultural exchange between Vietnam and Canada. Moreover, it provides students from both institutions with invaluable opportunities for study and experiential learning.
During the program, NSCC representatives Mr. Stephen Barrett and Ms. Manal Saleh share insights into the entrepreneurship ecosystem at Nova Scotia Community College. As an international community college, NSCC places a strong emphasis on investment and guiding students towards post-graduation entrepreneurial activities. The college’s diverse offerings attract students from around the globe, including international students from Vietnam and specifically from Tra Vinh University.
Beyond informative sessions, the program features engaging activities such as testing entrepreneurial models, allowing students to apply their theoretical knowledge and skills in real-world scenarios. This practical approach enhances the learning experience and prepares students for future entrepreneurial challenges.
The program fosters a rich cultural exchange, with NSCC students showing enthusiasm for TVU students’ entrepreneurial ideas. This cross-cultural interaction enables students from both institutions to learn about different educational environments and gain mutual experiences.
Duong Thien Nhan, a construction engineering student, shares his experience: “The program helps me gain valuable knowledge and skills in entrepreneurship. I learn business planning, financial management, marketing, and presenting ideas from experts from both schools. Additionally, I have opportunities to exchange and learn from the entrepreneurial experiences of NSCC students.”
By facilitating this international collaboration, Tra Vinh University continues to demonstrate its commitment to providing students with global perspectives and practical skills in entrepreneurship. This initiative not only enhances the educational experience but also prepares students to become innovative, community-oriented entrepreneurs in an increasingly interconnected world.
