TVU – Tra Vinh University hosts a vibrant cultural exchange program with the Palompon Institute of Technology (PIT), Philippines, as part of PIT faculty members’ working visit from November 19 to November 30, 2024. The event serves as a platform for both institutions to showcase their distinctive regional cultural features, fostering educational cooperation and friendship between the two nations.
During the exchange, Tra Vinh University presents performances highlighting the unique cultural heritage of Southern Khmer people, including the Ro Bam dance, Cham Rieng Cha Pay art form, and traditional dances such as Romvong and Saravan. In return, PIT faculty members demonstrate the Tinikling folk dance – a cultural symbol of Philippine agriculture that portrays farmers’ agility and work ethic through a traditional dance mimicking the movements of catching Tikling birds in rice fields.
The event draws enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members of both institutions, creating a lively atmosphere through traditional artistic performances and cultural interactions. This initiative strengthens the understanding and bonds between the two educational institutions while promoting international cooperation and highlighting education’s role in bridging cultural and human connections between Vietnam and the Philippines.
