TVU – On November 18, 2024, as part of the opening ceremony celebrations for the 2024-2025 academic year, Tra Vinh University (TVU) hosts a cultural exchange program, awards academic scholarships totaling over 3.5 billion VND to students, and honors individuals and groups for outstanding achievements.
Supporting TVU students
For the 2024-2025 academic year, TVU welcomes 3,259 new students across 43 undergraduate and college programs. This includes 26 international students from Cambodia, bringing the total international student population to over 100. This cultural exchange creates a diverse and dynamic learning environment, offering young people opportunities to develop communication skills, teamwork, and adaptability internationally.
At the ceremony, TVU honors top achievers, including:
- Valedictorian Duong Ngoc Bao Han (a former student of Tra Vinh Pedagogical Practice School), admitted to Law program, receiving awards and scholarships worth 23 million VND
- Salutatorian Huynh Ngoc Quy (a former student of Ho Thi Nham High School, Cang Long district), admitted to Electrical and Electronic Engineering Technology program, receiving 15 million VND in awards and scholarships.
TVU also provides:
- Two full scholarships for Cambodian students covering tuition and dormitory fees:
- 71.6 million VND (Medical program)
- 61.9 million VND (Pharmacy program)
- Living allowances for eight Laotian students totaling 84 million VND
- Recognition awards for nine students with outstanding achievements in national and international competitions
State honors and recognition
The ceremony recognizes several distinguished individuals and groups:
- Prof. Dr. Pham Tiet Khanh, University Council Chairman, receives the First-Class Labor Medal
- Six individuals receive Third-Class Labor Medals
- The Training Department and 12 individuals receive Government Commendation Certificates
- TVU receives the Provincial Emulation Flag for outstanding achievements in 2023
During the opening ceremony, over 30 organizations and individuals contribute more than 3.5 billion VND to TVU’s scholarship fund. This support helps disadvantaged students access higher education and motivates them to excel in their studies.
The ceremony marks a promising new academic year for TVU, supported by leadership at all levels, benefactors, and the continuous efforts of staff, faculty, and students. These awards recognize the university community’s dedication and motivate further improvements in education quality and social development.
