(TVU) – On January 16 evening, at the “TVU Connect – TVU Student Connection Journey” program, Tra Vinh University awarded more than 450 million VND in scholarships to students who have overcome difficulties and shown good conduct. This is part of a series of “Voluntary Spring” program 2025 activities.
The event was attended by Ms. Duong Thi Yen Nhi, Standing Committee Member and Head of Youth and School Affairs of Tra Vinh Provincial Youth Union; Dr. Huynh Van Muoi Mot, Deputy Secretary of Tra Vinh University Party Committee; Mr. Nguyen Dinh Chieu, Deputy Secretary of Youth Union and Vice President of Student Association; representatives from the University’s Youth Union Executive Committee, Student Association Executive Committee, sponsors, individuals, businesses, and faculty members from various Colleges, Schools, Institutes, and Centers.

In his welcome speech, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Chieu expressed gratitude to businesses and sponsors for their timely support through valuable scholarships, helping Tra Vinh University students focus on their studies and achieve high academic results. On behalf of the Youth Union and Student Association leadership, he extended New Year greetings to all students and expressed expectations for stronger youth movement development in the future.
During the program, Taiwan’s Tzu Chi Charity Organization in Vietnam awarded scholarships for the first semester of the 2024-2025 academic year to 20 students, while Vietcombank Tra Vinh Branch provided scholarships to 100 students. The total value exceeded 450 million VND.


These scholarships serve as worthy rewards and encouragement for students’ continuous efforts, providing financial support and significant moral motivation to excel in their studies and contribute to local development.
Le Hoai Phuc, a 2024 Mechanical Engineering Technology student receiving a scholarship from Tzu Chi Charity, expressed gratitude and joy for the sponsorship. He shared, “This valuable scholarship helps me overcome difficulties and focus on studying at Tra Vinh University.”

The event also featured diverse cultural performances celebrating the Party, President Ho Chi Minh, and patriotic themes, creating a festive atmosphere before the Year of the Snake 2025 and attracting over 600 student participants.

This year, Tra Vinh University is organizing various activities for the “Voluntary Spring” 2025 program, including:
- CLASKA awarded 10 scholarships to disadvantaged students
- The Dormitory Management Board organized cultural exchanges, traditional games, and calligraphy activities
- The university visited and presented gifts to the Vietnamese Heroic Mother Nguyen Thi Sy and distributed 30 gift packages worth 500,000 VND each to disadvantaged residents in Phong Thanh and Truong Long Hoa communes.
- Party Cell 3 provided 20 gift packages worth 500,000 VND each to disadvantaged students in Truong Long Hoa commune.
- The University Trade Union organized a Tet cake-wrapping competition
These meaningful activities celebrate the Year of the Snake 2025 and commemorate the 95th anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam’s establishment (February 3, 1930 – February 3, 2025).
