TVU – On June 20, Tra Vinh University held the Award Ceremony for the 3rd “Information Searching and Document Reading Skills” Competition – 2025 and the 2025 Reading Culture Ambassador Contest. The ceremony took place in a bustling atmosphere with the enthusiastic participation of many students from many faculties and member schools under the university.
On the side of the University leaders, there were Dr. Phan Quoc Nghia, Vice Rector of Tra Vinh University and Head of the Organizing Committee; MSc. Truong Thi My Huyen, Deputy Director of the Center for Learning Resources – Teaching and Learning Development and Head of the Jury of the Information Searching and Document Reading Skills Competition, and MSc. Nguyen Thi Kim Thanh, Deputy Director of the Center for Learning Resources – Teaching and Learning Development, Head of the Jury of the 2025 Reading Culture Ambassador Contest.

The “Information Searching and Document Reading Skills” contest was organized by the Center for Learning Resources – Teaching and Learning Development, with the participation of nearly 50 contestants from faculties and member schools. The contest was divided into two main parts: Information Searching and Document Reading. In the Information Searching section, contestants have 30 minutes to apply their computer skills and online searching tools (including AI) to search for at least 05 scientific documents, research reports or documents from prestigious educational institutions on the topic “Trends in the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in higher education in Vietnam”, ensuring that they were updated within the last 3-5 years. Next, in the Document Reading, contestants have 60 minutes to read and summarize the main content of a printed document provided by the Jury in the form of a draft diagram and write a summary of about 250 words. This section requires candidates to demonstrate their ability to read deeply, summarize visually and creatively without using electronic devices.

In the final results, the first prize was awarded to Lam Thao Nguyen (School of Economics and Law); Nguyen Thi Thuy Duy (School of Engineering and Technology) won the second prize, and Son Anh Thu (School of Southern Khmer Language, Culture, Arts and Humanities) won the third prize. Two consolation prizes were awarded to Cao Quoc Khiem (School of Engineering and Technology) and Tran Thi Bich Thanh (Faculty of Agriculture and Fisheries).
In addition, the 2025 Reading Culture Ambassador contest was also summarized and awarded. From 15 entries, the jury selected the 6 best entries. The first prize was awarded to Nguyen Ngoc Nhu Quynh (School of Economics and Law); Nguyen Thi Tuyet Ngoan got the second prize; the third prize went to Le Hien Quyen and three consolation prizes were awarded to Le Thi My Duyen (School of Southern Khmer Language, Culture, Arts and Humanities), Nguyen Thi Ngoc Huyen and Thai Duc Khong Vi (School of Medicine and Pharmacy).
Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Truong Thi My Huyen, Head of the Jury, highly appreciated the efforts and creativity of the contestants. She affirmed that these activities not only help students practice active learning skills but also contribute to promoting the spirit of lifelong learning and building an academic culture in the school.
