TVU – On the morning of March 29, My Xuyen High School campus in Soc Trang Province is excited as nearly 500 students join a vibrant career guidance program hosted by the College of Economics and Law (CEL) under Tra Vinh University. Three main activities – “Successful Graduate Returns,” “Scientific Research Guidance for High School Students,” and a “Mock Trial”—deliver practical insights, ignite critical thinking, and boost legal awareness among the students.

The day begins with a heartfelt session called “Successful Graduate Returns,” where students meet Huynh Quoc Khanh, an alumnus of My Xuyen High School and now a second-year student at CEL, Tra Vinh University. Khanh shares his journey from high school to university, reflecting on his challenges, the perseverance he showed, and how he pursued his passion. His honest and emotional storytelling strikes a chord with the students, encouraging them to follow their educational paths boldly.

Next, a session on scientific research inspires curiosity and creative thinking. Lecturers from Tra Vinh University lead “Scientific Research Guidance for High School Students,” equipping participants with practical research design, problem-solving, and data analysis skills. The atmosphere is lively as students engage with real-world questions and explore how academic inquiry can lead to meaningful discoveries. More than just a technical lesson, the session sparks excitement for independent thinking and research.

The program’s climax is a mock trial, where students witness a realistic courtroom simulation. The mood shifts to solemn attention as the students watch legal procedures unfold. Through the performances of student lawyers, prosecutors, and judges, they gain deeper insights into how justice works. This engaging session helps them understand legal processes while building a sense of civic responsibility, critical thinking, and ethical awareness.

This meaningful series of activities offers useful knowledge and motivates students to reflect on their future studies and careers. Dr. Phan Minh Gioi, Vice Dean of the School of Law, along with CEL faculty members and students, is key in connecting high school students with the university environment. This bridge allows students to visualize their future and step into it with greater confidence and purpose.
