Tra Vinh University (TVU) launched a university-wide book reading campaign on April 22nd, 2024, by hosting the opening ceremony for the “3rd Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day.” The event attracted a large audience of students, faculty, staff, and guests, aiming to cultivate a love for reading and promote book culture.
In his opening remarks, Dr Phan Quoc Nghia, Vice Rector of TVU, emphasized the importance of reading. He encouraged the university community to participate actively and stressed the importance of protecting intellectual property through messages like “Good books need readers” and “Buy authentic books.”
To enhance creativity, teamwork, and reading passion, TVU organized engaging activities:
Book Corner Decoration Contest (April 19th): Eighteen teams from student unions, faculty unions, clubs, and associations showcased their creativity by designing unique book corners within the Learning Resource and Teaching Development Center. The Economics and Law Union teams emerged victorious, followed by the Environmental Club.
Golden Bell Quiz (April 22nd): The quiz tested participants’ knowledge during the opening ceremony and fostered a competitive spirit. Ngo Tuan Kiet from class DA23XYHB emerged victorious, with Le Nguyen Yen Khoa receiving the consolation prize.
Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed a book exhibition showcasing a diverse selection of exciting titles. Visitors were even treated to complimentary books. The exhibition remains open to the public from April 22nd to 26th, 2024, at the Learning Resource and Teaching Development Center.
