TVU – Tra Vinh University is hosting a special awards ceremony on January 4 to recognize outstanding students who have earned the prestigious “Three Good Merits,” “Five Good Merits,” and “January Star” distinctions for 2024. The event, held at Hall D5, coincides with the 75th anniversary celebration of Vietnamese Students’ Day and the Vietnam Student Association (January 9, 1950 – January 9, 2025).
Ms. Nguyen Thi Cam Huong, Deputy Secretary of the Tra Vinh Provincial Youth Union, and Mr. Nguyen The Hien, Deputy Director of Viettel Tra Vinh, graced the event.
The ceremony also features representatives from Tra Vinh University: Dr. Thach Thi Dan, Vice Rector and Standing Member of the Party Committee; Dr. Huynh Van Muoi Mot, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Head of the Department of General Administration; Mr. Nguyen Dinh Chieu, Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union and Vice President of the Student Association; along with leaders of various departments and more than 450 TVU students.
The “Student with 3 Good Merits”, “Student with 5 Good Merits”, and “January Star” movements, launched by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Student Association, hold profound significance for Vietnamese students. These movements serve as goals for students to strive toward, helping them perfect themselves and adapt to the development of Vietnam in the current era.
In her address, Dr. Thach Thi Dan commends the Student Association’s Executive Committee for their role in diversifying student activities and initiatives. She congratulates the award recipients for their exceptional achievements throughout 2024. She encourages the association’s members to collaborate creatively to strengthen the Youth Union-Student Association and enhance student engagement.
The university recognizes an impressive cohort of achievers: 9 students receive the “Three Good Merits” title, 8 earn the “January Star” designation, 32 achieve “Outstanding Student with Five Good Merits” status, and 361 are awarded the “Five Good Merits” distinction at the university level. These achievements highlight the dedication and aspirational spirit of TVU’s student community.
