Tra Vinh University cooperated with enterprises to train quality human resources

(TVU) – On July 28, 2023, Tra Vinh University signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation with Truong Hai Agriculture Joint Stock Company (THAGRICO), Hanoi CPC1 Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company –Ho Chi Minh City branch and Jollibee Vietnam Co., Ltd.

The meeting took place with the attendance of many people. On the side of Truong Hai Agriculture Joint Stock Company (THAGRICO) was Mr. Phan Tiem, Rector of THACO College; On the side of Hanoi CPC1 Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company – Ho Chi Minh City branch, there was Mr. Dinh Minh Tuan, Director of ETC channel; On the side of Jollibee Vietnam Co., Ltd., there were Ms. Nguyen Thi Cam Van, Manager of Mekong 1 business area, and representatives of leaders from the recruitment and human resources departments of the companies.

Welcoming the delegation were Assoc.Prof.Dr. Diep Thanh Tung, Vice-Rector of Tra Vinh University and leaders of affiliated schools, faculties, institutes, and representatives of leaders of units.

According to the content of cooperation, the parties would cooperate in training, recruiting quality human resources, conducting scientific research, consulting and developing training programs, and meeting the needs of enterprises.

THAGRICO would annually receive students in the fields of Food Technology, Agriculture, Hi-tech Agriculture, Biotechnology, Veterinary Medicine, Crop Science, Plant Protection, Business Administration, Management Office Administration, Accounting, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, English Language, Khmer Language, to do their internship and work on the farms in Cambodia and Vietnam, and join in the training program under the Co-op model at Tra Vinh University.

Hanoi CPC1 Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company – Ho Chi Minh City Branch and Jollibee Vietnam Co., Ltd. would also receive students to come for their internships and recruit qualified students to work at the companies.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Diep Thanh Tung, Vice-Rector of Tra Vinh University, shared: “Enterprises play an important role in the development of Tra Vinh University. We all highly appreciate the enterprises for spending time working and learning about the school. With the parties’ cooperation, I believe that we will train high-quality human resources to meet the needs of the labor market. “

Tra Vinh University has built over 15 training programs under the Co.op model. The number of programs under this model was increasingly expanding to meet domestic and foreign enterprises’ demand for quality human resources. Training under the Co.op model showed the close connection between the University and the enterprises right from the admissions and career counseling, the stages that determine the student’s consciousness before admission and career orientation. In addition, the University and the enterprises jointly developed a program that met the needs of the enterprise and improved the training quality. At the same time, the enterprises could participate directly in the training process of the University. During the training process, students experienced practical working at the enterprises, which developed their adaptability when being recruited and working at the companies.

Especially for Truong Hai Agriculture Joint Stock Company (THAGRICO), TVU wished to cooperate with the company to implement international enrollment consulting activities in Cambodia and Laos, aiming to provide high-quality human resources in Cambodia and Laos for THAGRICO.

According to Mr. Phan Tiem, “THAGRICO, in general, and THACO College, in particular, has a close relationship with Tra Vinh University. The Group currently has over 40 employees who are alumni of TVU and hold important management positions in the Group. Moreover, I have had the opportunity to work with TVU many times, so I highly evaluate the training quality of the University. I wish to cooperate with TVU in training and providing high-quality human resources for the Group’s development. In addition, we are also ready to receive staff and lecturers for short-term exchanges, especially students to practice under the co.op program.”

Representatives of enterprises expressed their desire for long-term cooperation with Tra Vinh University. They claimed to provide all necessary resources to support students of Tra Vinh University to study and develop.

Cooperation between Tra Vinh University and enterprises inside and outside the province was one of the efforts of the University to improve the quality of training, meeting the human demand of the labor market.

A job fair organized by Tra Vinh University (TVU) on July 29, 2023, connected more than 30 businesses to recruit directly, opening up job opportunities for first-year students and students who have just graduated. At the festival, businesses inside and outside the province introduced many industry needs at the booth. It allowed students to visit, learn about potential jobs, and create direct relationships with recruiters. Students could participate in face-to-face interviews with businesses and apply immediately for suitable positions.
