On May 11, Tra Vinh University hosted a lively and innovative Mini Car Racing competition. The event drew a large number of engineering and technology students, providing a valuable learning and networking opportunity.
Members from the College of Engineering and Technology attend the event, including Dr. Vo Phuoc Hung, who serves as Head of Department and Organizing Committee Chair, along with several deputy heads of departments and staff members.
Dr. Pham Quoc Phong, Deputy Head of the College of Engineering and Technology, delivers the opening remarks, emphasizing how the competition helps students apply theoretical knowledge to practical situations. He highlights the event’s importance in developing crucial soft skills such as teamwork, creative thinking, and problem-solving—abilities that will benefit students in their future careers.
Eight teams with 33 students participate in the competition. Throughout the preceding month, these students design, assemble, and program autonomous mini-cars to navigate through challenging obstacle courses. The competition also functions as a selection process to identify talented students who will represent Tra Vinh University at the upcoming 10th National Mini Car Racing Competition at Cao Thang College.
Team 6 wins first place, consisting of Tran Van Dat, Truong Anh Hao, Nguyen Ngoc Phat (all from the Automotive Technology program, class of 2023), Tram Quoc An (Automotive Technology, class of 2022), and Le Quoc Duong (Electronics, class of 2022). Team 1 takes second place with members Dinh Phu Vinh, Thach Pho Khune, Nguyen Tai Loc, and Le Nguyen Tan Loc, all studying Automotive Technology. Team 7, comprising Tran Vinh Phat, Kim Tha Vi, and Vo Hoang Nhan from the Automotive Technology program, secures third place.
The 2025 Mini Car Racing competition showcases the students’ engineering talent and passion while demonstrating Tra Vinh University’s dedication to practical training and innovation in education.
