TVU – Tra Vinh University (TVU) takes a significant step in international collaboration as Dr Thach Thi Dan, Vice-Rector of TVU, signs a cooperation agreement with Dr Oum Ravy, Vice-Rector of the Royal University of Phnom Penh (RUPP) on September 9, 2024, in Phnom Penh. This partnership opens up new avenues for Khmer Language and Tourism and Travel Services Management students.
The TVU delegation includes Dr Ngo So Phe, Principal of the College of Southern Khmer Language – Culture – Arts and Humanities (CLASKA), along with leaders from the International Cooperation Department, CLASKA School Office, Faculty of Southern Khmer Language – Culture – Arts, and Faculty of Tourism – Restaurant – Hotel Management.
A key feature of the Memorandum of Understanding is establishing a 3+1 program in Khmer Language studies, with mutual recognition of learning outcomes. The agreement promotes academic exchanges, including faculty participation in scientific councils and joint seminar organizations. Furthermore, the institutions explore the possibility of cooperation in tourism and travel services management.
Dr. Thach Thi Dan emphasizes the significance of this partnership: “This Memorandum of Understanding will create numerous opportunities for our students to experience enhanced learning environments and multicultural practices, fostering both professional knowledge and language skills development.”
The collaboration is further bolstered by TVU’s recent achievement in international quality accreditation. Dr. Oum Ravy of RUPP commends TVU’s Khmer Language Department for obtaining AUN-QA accreditation, viewing it as a valuable opportunity for students from both institutions to engage in high-quality study and practical experiences.
