TVU – Tra Vinh University makes a strong showing at the 2024 Tiger and Friends Cup, held on November 26 at the Tra Vinh Provincial Stadium, demonstrating the institution’s athletic prowess and team spirit.
The tournament combines four competitive teams: the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism of Vinh Long, the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism of Tra Vinh, Heineken Beer, and Tra Vinh University. The event attracts significant attention from university leadership and sports enthusiasts alike.
Key university representatives attend the opening ceremony, including Dr. Thach Thi Dan, Vice Rector, who leads the university’s support for the team. Joining her are M.A. Nguyen Nhat Thanh, President of the Trade Union; Dr. Lieu Thanh Tam, Head of the School of Physical Education; and M.S. Tran Thi Thanh Huyen, Head of the Department of Physical Education.
The tournament showcases high-energy matches characterized by impressive plays and spectacular goals. More than just a sporting event, the competition aims to promote health, cultivate a sporting spirit, and create a vibrant atmosphere of camaraderie. It provides a unique platform for staff, employees, and workers from various organizations to connect, share experiences, and strengthen professional relationships.
When the final whistle blows, the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism of Vinh Long emerges as the champions. Tra Vinh University’s football club secures a commendable second place, showcasing the university’s competitive spirit and athletic talent. The Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism of Tra Vinh takes third place, with the Heineken Beer football club rounding out the tournament standings.
