Tra Vinh University fosters collaboration with Saskatchewan Polytechnic, Canada.

(TVU) – In the middle of October 2019, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Tiet Khanh, Rector of Tra Vinh University (TVU) cum President of Vietnam Association of Community Colleges (VACC) had a meeting with Dr. Larry Rosie, President of Saskatchewan Polytechnic, Canada.

Within the scope of the meeting, the two sides reviewed and fostered collaborative activities on the Memorandum of University (MoU) which was signed between TVU and Saskatchewan Polytechnic in last March.

Dr. Angela, a representative of Saskatchewan Polytechnic said that Saskatchewan Polytechnic is a member of the Canadian Polytechnic University (Polytechnic Canada) and an honorary member of VACC, where there are about 20 Vietnamese students taking their courses. The institution offers various training programs and models including hands-on experience at enterprises.

The two parties continued to agree on three important issues including promoting cooperation in lecturer and student exchange, carrying out academic projects, scientific research, and community service activities. Moreover, they discussed a joint training program in health sciences, especially nursing.

Taking this opportunity, the delegation also worked with the leaders of VACC’s member community colleges such as Dac Nong, Phu Yen, Soc Trang, Tra Vinh Vocational College, etc. in order to seek for more cooperative opportunities in the years to come.

The meeting ended when the two leaders of VACC and Saskatchewan Polytechnic signed a MoU in the field of student and lecturer exchange and scientific research.
