On the morning of February 2, Tra Vinh University organizes a “Hair Donation for Cancer Patients” activity within the framework of the “Green Hair” project. The program attracts more than 60 volunteers, including lecturers, staff members, students, school pupils, and residents.
The Center for Community Service coordinates the activity in collaboration with the Youth Union – Student Association and the Laboratory School, with support from An Nhien Hair Salon and My Xuyen Hair Salon. Organizers conduct hair cutting, collection, and preservation in line with standard procedures before transferring the donations to the Breast Cancer Network Vietnam (BCNV) for processing and delivery to patients.

At the event, Dr. Thach Thi Dan, Vice Rector of Tra Vinh University, acknowledges the strong sense of responsibility and active participation of staff, lecturers, students, pupils, and community members. She thanks the coordinating units and sponsors for their support in ensuring the program runs safely and effectively. She also hopes the Center for Community Service will continue to implement meaningful initiatives that benefit the community.

Ms. Phung Thi Phuong Khanh, Director of the Center for Community Service, states that each donated lock of hair reflects empathy and solidarity with cancer patients. She emphasizes that the act represents the sharing of hope and emotional encouragement, helping patients feel more confident during treatment. The center plans to maintain the activity annually to promote humanitarian values further.

Ms. Duong Hoang Oanh, a lecturer from the School of Agriculture and Aquaculture, shares that she fulfills a long-standing wish to donate her hair through the program. She describes the decision as meaningful and appreciates the enthusiastic participation of colleagues and children.

Nguyen Minh Chau, a Grade 2C pupil at the Laboratory School, expresses pride in donating her hair and contributing to spreading kindness within the community.
The 2026 campaign receives more than 60 qualifying hair donations. Many volunteers donate their hair for the first time, often after keeping it for years. Each contribution reflects personal goodwill and collective responsibility, reinforcing faith and resilience among cancer patients.

The hair donation drive demonstrates Tra Vinh University’s ongoing commitment to linking education with social responsibility. Through practical and compassionate actions, the university continues to promote a humane, caring, and sustainable community.
