Tra Vinh University hosts scientific seminar on digital transformation’s impact on agricultural economy

TVU – On June 28, 2025, Tra Vinh University organizes a scientific seminar titled “Impact of Digital Transformation on the Agricultural Economy.” The event attracts many scientists, professors, doctoral students, graduate students, and undergraduates.

The seminar takes place with the participation of the School of Economics and Law’s leadership, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Nguyen, Rector, and Dr. Nguyen Tan Dat, Vice Rector of the university. From the scientific community, lecturers and guests, the seminar has the honor of welcoming: Professor Doan Xuan Tien – Former Deputy State Auditor General, Chairman of Vietnam Association of Auditors and Accountants, Chairman of ASEAN Accounting Federation; Dr. Doan Ngoc Pha – Chairman of An Giang Province’s Union of Science and Technology Associations; Dr. Tran Thanh Cao – Deputy Director of Southern Forest Science Institute; Dr. Nguyen Thanh Sang – Rector of Bac Lieu Vocational College; Dr. Nguyen Van Hoa – Lecturer at School of Economics and Law; Dr. Pham Minh Tri – State Bank Regional Branch 14; Dr. Pham Thi Gam Nhung – Kien Giang Power Company; Dr. Vo The Truong – Provincial Inspectorate.

The seminar provides additional scientific and practical evidence, supporting the policy-making process and building digital agricultural development strategies in Vietnam in general and the Tra Vinh region. According to Dr. Nguyen Tan Dat, in the context of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and globalization, digital transformation is a trend and a key driving force to improve productivity, quality, and sustainable development of the agricultural sector.

      

The seminar organizing committee reports receiving 30 research papers from scientists and lecturers nationwide. Among these, five outstanding papers are presented at the seminar, focusing on issues: Digital transformation in Vietnam’s agriculture: Prospects for sustainable development – Tran Thanh Cao, Duong Thi Tuyet Anh; digital transformation and improving agricultural production efficiency – Doan Ngoc Pha; Analysis of factors affecting acceptance of digital transformation in agricultural product business among farmers from the perspective of government policy implementation departments in Tra Vinh province – Huynh Minh Phuc, Tran Thi Tuyet Mai; Application of digital technology and green technology in climate-adaptive shrimp farming: The case of Wesolife in Ca Mau – Le Nhi Bao Ngoc; impact of digital transformation on agricultural value chains in the Mekong Delta – Le Bao Toan, Duong Tuan Vu, Huynh Thi My Duyen.

This is a forum for connection and cooperation between universities, research institutes, state management agencies, and enterprises, aiming to develop innovative, modern, and sustainable agriculture.
