(TVU) – On March 11, Tra Vinh University organized a specialized training workshop on “Data Processing with MATLAB and MATLAB Applications in Economic Fields.” The event attracted 45 staff members and lecturers, aiming to enhance professional capabilities and technological application knowledge in teaching and research.
The primary speakers were Mr. Alex Lo, CEO of Ascendas Systems, and Mr. Duong Quang Huy, an application engineer from Ascendas Systems. Both shared in-depth knowledge about MATLAB software and demonstrated its usage in processing and analyzing data for practical economic problems.
The training program consisted of two main sessions:
First Session: Basic MATLAB and Basic Data Processing focused on introducing MATLAB’s fundamental features, including interface, data types, script writing, and basic operations. Participants were guided through spreadsheet data processing, data importing from Excel files, graphic creation, and image export from MATLAB.
Second Session: MATLAB Applications in Economic Fields introduced practical MATLAB applications in economic and financial domains, particularly specialized toolboxes supporting data analysis and processing. The session detailed standard data analysis procedures, data preprocessing techniques, and specific application examples in the economic sector.
Participants gained comprehensive insights into utilizing MATLAB as a powerful analytical tool for economic research and professional data management.
