TVU – On June 15, Tra Vinh University (TVU) organizes a Physical Education and Sports Exchange Festival with the Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics Branch at Vinh Long (UEH Mekong), attracting enthusiastic participation and support from over 250 students from both universities. The event creates a vibrant sports playground and allows students from both universities to exchange ideas, learn, and improve their health.
Representatives from Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics Branch at Vinh Long include M.A. Ho Thien Quyen, Deputy Director of the Branch; M.A. Tran Thi Lan Thao, Deputy Head of Training Department; and M.A. Nguyen Dai Son, Head of Physical Education & Defense Security Department.
From Tra Vinh University, the event welcomes Dr. Phan Quoc Nghia, Vice Rector, and M.A. Truong Minh Hai, Deputy Director of the National Defense & Security Education Center.

In his opening remarks, Dr. Phan Quoc Nghia, Vice Rector, extends warm greetings to all athletes and supporters. The Vice Rector shares that sports help strengthen physical health and play an essential role in developing unity and bonding among students from both universities. This serves as an opportunity for students to demonstrate their capabilities and noble sportsmanship.

Following this, M.A. Ho Thien Quyen, Deputy Director of Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics Branch at Vinh Long (UEH Mekong), also encourages the competing teams. He expresses hope that athletes will compete with their full potential while taking advantage of opportunities to exchange ideas, learn, and strengthen friendships between students from both universities.

The sports festival opens with men’s 5-a-side football, following current regulations with two teams: TVU and UEH Mekong. Both teams deliver thrilling and dynamic matches, providing audiences with spectacular moments and explosive emotions. At the end of the football competition, TVU excellently won with a 2-0 score against the UEH Mekong team.

Next comes the mixed tug-of-war competition, with each team consisting of 5 male and five female athletes. Teams compete in a draw and direct elimination format, with three rounds divided among three teams: TVU, UEH Mekong 1, and UEH Mekong 2. After intense competitions, the final tug-of-war results are: UEH Mekong 2 team wins first place, UEH Mekong 1 team achieves second place, and the TVU team comes third.
The sports festival serves as an occasion for students from both universities to exchange ideas and strengthen physical fitness while providing a valuable opportunity to enhance unity and tighten friendship bonds among students.
