Tra Vinh University implements comprehensive student support policies

(TVU) – To create favorable conditions for students to focus on their studies, Tra Vinh University has consistently emphasized implementing numerous support policies and care programs for students, particularly those facing difficult circumstances, policy beneficiaries, and ethnic minority students. These initiatives help students continue their educational journey, pursue their dreams, and become valuable members of society.

From 2021 to 2025, the university implemented policies including tuition fee exemptions and reductions, financial support for purchasing learning materials and equipment, social allowances, and academic encouragement scholarships for over 13,110 student cases, with a total value exceeding 60.7 billion VND. Additionally, many scholarship opportunities come from sponsoring organizations, individuals, and businesses dedicated to students overcoming academic challenges. Regular students at the university who achieve excellent results in entrance examinations receive monetary rewards ranging from 7 to 10 million VND from the university. These rewards represent well-deserved recognition and encouragement for students’ continuous efforts.

Multiple scholarship programs for TVU students

Tra Vinh University maintains appropriate and stable tuition fees within the public university sector. The university also offers numerous incentive policies to promote innovation and support student entrepreneurship, including financial support for feasible startup project implementation (maximum 50,000,000 VND per project), financial assistance for establishing businesses or cooperatives (10,000,000 VND per idea), office space support during initial stages, consulting and training for student entrepreneurs on important knowledge areas, and support for intellectual property creation, design, and registration consultation. With the collaboration of organizations, businesses, and university support policies, the student entrepreneurship movement at Tra Vinh University promises to continue developing, bringing proud achievements, and creating practical value for society.

Specifically, Tra Vinh University provides 100% tuition fee exemption for students majoring in Traditional Musical Instrument Performance and grants living allowances of 450,000 VND per month. The university also reduces tuition fees by 30% for the entire course duration for students majoring in Cultural Studies, Music Studies, and Khmer Language.

The university provides scholarships equivalent to 50% of tuition fees for the entire course for female students pursuing engineering and technology programs, including Traffic Construction Engineering, Construction Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Electrical-Electronic Engineering Technology, Control and Automation Engineering Technology, and Automotive Engineering Technology.

The university grants scholarships equivalent to 50% of tuition fees for students participating in Business Administration and Information Technology training programs (English-Integrated Program). The scholarship period starts from the beginning of the second semester (excluding the first semester of English learning) of the academic program.

The university provides scholarships equivalent to 30% of tuition fees for the entire course for female students studying Applied Chemistry.

Starting from the 2025 regular admission cycle, the university implements 100% first-year tuition fee scholarships for students in the following programs: Plant Protection, Chemical Engineering Technology, Social Work, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Traffic Construction Engineering, Public Health, Biotechnology, Political Science, Artificial Intelligence, Mechatronics, and Environmental Engineering.

The university provides financial support for students selected for exchange and practical learning at partner institutions (not exceeding one year) with support levels of 7,000,000 VND for destinations in Asian countries, specifically 5,000,000 VND for Southeast Asian countries and 10,000,000 VND for other regions.

In 2025, Tra Vinh University admits students to 10 doctoral programs, 20 master’s programs, 9 specialist level I programs, 1 specialist level II program in the medical and pharmaceutical fields, and 50 undergraduate programs. Currently, the university has 27 training programs accredited according to international standards, including FIBAA, AUN-QA, and ABET, with the Dentistry program meeting Ministry of Education and Training accreditation standards. These achievements help position Tra Vinh University among the top universities in the Mekong Delta region with numerous internationally accredited education quality programs.

Additionally, for consecutive years, Tra Vinh University has ranked in the Top 200 universities with green educational environments and sustainable development investment according to UI GreenMetric Ranking. For three consecutive years (2022, 2023, 2024), the university received outstanding digital transformation awards. For the fifth consecutive year, Tra Vinh University continues to advance in the top 100 universities with real impact. Notably, the university ranks at the top of the cultural value index – B5 (WURI Culture/Value), World Universities with Real Impact (WURI), announced by the World University Alliance.
