TVU – Tra Vinh University kicks off an ambitious sports festival today, combining celebrations for the 2024-2025 academic year and the 42nd Vietnamese Teachers’ Day in a showcase of athletic excellence at its state-of-the-art Multi-purpose Gymnasium.
Dr. Thach Thi Dan, Vice Rector of Tra Vinh University, leads the opening ceremony alongside key university officials and Viettel Tra Vinh’s Business Department Head, Mr. Ngo Hong Khanh, who represents the event’s corporate sponsor.
“This festival embodies our commitment to holistic education,” says Dr. Thach Thi Dan, highlighting how Tra Vinh University integrates physical wellness with academic achievement. “Through sports like football, volleyball, badminton, and fell running, we’re building stronger bodies but stronger minds and community bonds.”
The month-long celebration, from October 20 to November 16, positions Tra Vinh University as a hub for sporting excellence, drawing over 400 athletes across multiple disciplines. The university’s Deputy Youth Union Secretary, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Chieu, outlines an impressive lineup of competitions, including:
- Men’s and women’s football tournaments
- Volleyball championships (featuring both dynamic and air volleyball variants)
- Badminton tournaments
- The Voice TVU Open competition
- E-sports competitions featuring Lien Quan Mobile
- Swimming events with 50m and 100m categories
- Fell running challenges
The festival marks a significant milestone for Tra Vinh University, transforming its campus into a vibrant arena where students and faculty compete, connect, and celebrate. With matches commencing on October 27 and culminating in an awards ceremony on November 17, the university demonstrates its commitment to fostering athletic excellence and community spirit.
