(TVU) – On October 1, 2024, Tra Vinh University holds the opening ceremony of the Lifelong Learning Week 2024 with the theme “Developing reading culture to promote lifelong learning” as initiated by the Ministry of Education and Training.
The Lifelong Learning Week 2024 serves as an occasion to recognize and honor the continuous learning efforts of each individual, not only during their time in school but throughout their lives.
Dr. Tieu Thanh Thuy, Director of the Center of Excellence in Learning Resources and Innovation, staff members and participating students attend the opening ceremony.
Dr. Tieu Thanh Thuy states: The Lifelong Learning Week 2024 aims to promote and raise student awareness about the spirit of learning and building a learning society. At the same time, it encourages and develops a reading culture among students, learners, lecturers, managers, and the public through reading promotion activities, exchange events, competitions, etc., contributing to developing a reading culture that fosters lifelong learning spirit in schools and communities.
Tran Thanh Ngan, a student of Vietnamese Language Education, class of 2021, shares about the lifelong learning journey, saying that the beauty of lifelong learning lies not only in the knowledge and skills we gain after each learning journey but also in the mental changes when approaching new knowledge, broadening perspectives, developing oneself, and connecting with the world, thereby adapting to an increasingly changing world. “The spirit of lifelong learning is reflected in a positive attitude, readiness to receive new knowledge, willingness to change oneself at all ages, at all times and places – learning to know, learning to do, learning to live together, and learning to assert oneself,” Thanh Ngan says.
The Lifelong Learning Week 2024 takes place at Tra Vinh University from October 1 to October 7 with three main activities: A training session for students on the topic “Strategies for Successful Learning” organized at the Learning Resources – Teaching and Learning Development Center on October 2, expected to attract 100 students; A book-inspired drawing contest held on the morning of October 5 with 15 competing teams; and A book sharing and exchange event organized on the morning of October 7.
