(TVU) – On the morning of July 9, 200 students of Tra Vinh University attended the launching ceremony of the 2022 Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Diep Thanh Tung, Vice-Rector of Tra Vinh University, and Head of the campaign, hit the drum as a launching command.
The 2022 Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign organized by the Youth Union of Tra Vinh University was launched in July 10 and will be carried out on August 15 of 2022. The campaign includes many meaningful works, with the motto of efficiency, safety, and saving associated with the actual needs of the community.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Diep Thanh Tung, Vice-Rector, Head of the Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign of Tra Vinh University affirmed that this is an activity enthusiastically participated by a large number of union members and young people, demonstrating the spirit of pioneering, creativity and enthusiasm of the youth through the meaningful works for the community.
The Vice-Rector hoped that with enthusiasm and desire, the youth union force of Tra Vinh University will participate in the campaign with the spirit of support, creating new imprints, and beautiful images of the young generation.
According to Comrade Nguyen Van Vu An, Secretary of the TVU Youth Union, Deputy Commander of the Campaign, with the theme “The youth of Tra Vinh University are creative, aggressive, and volunteering for the community”, there are 40 soldiers standing on duty to carry out various works in Hoa Tan commune (Cau Ke district) and Thanh Hoa Son commune (Cau Ngang district).
There are 105 soldiers participating in 07 provincial-level formations, including: Designing and constructing children’s playgrounds; Propagating drowning prevention and teaching swimming; Repairing electrical equipment and installing lights; Training and transferring science & technology; Disseminating law; Health caring and propagating for the prevention and control of the Covid-19; and Teaching English. Besides, more than 3000 soldiers have participated in “Volunteer Saturday, Green Sunday” at wards and communes throughout the province.
During the campaign, the youth of Tra Vinh University will fulfill 09 targets, including: Building at least 01 new house for people with housing difficulties; Supporting 50 children with difficult circumstances; Building at least 01 new playground for children; Campaigning the youth to propose 100 ideas on the Portal of youth innovation ideas of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union.
The campaign’s organizers are striving for at least 3,000 youth union members to participate in volunteer activities; organizing at least 01 activity to prevent drowning, accident, and child abuse; developing 100 new union members; fostering at least 40 people to become members of the Communist Party of Vietnam; and coordinating with localities to visit and give gifts to at least 30 families under preferential treatment policy.
