Tra Vinh University opens Chinese Language Preparatory Class sponsored by Kun Shan University, Taiwan

On August 26, 2025, the International Training Institute at Tra Vinh University solemnly held the opening ceremony for the new specialized Chinese Language Preparatory Class sponsored by Kun Shan University of Technology, Taiwan. The event marks a favorable start in implementing the INTENSE program at Tra Vinh University, opening many international learning opportunities for students.

The ceremony honored distinguished guests, including Professor Dr. Tran Hoa Hien, former Educational Counselor at the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Ho Chi Minh City; representatives from the INTENSE Program General Board in Vietnam at National Taiwan University of Science and Technology; and representatives from Kun Shan University of Technology. From Tra Vinh University, attendees included Dr. Nguyen Huy Thong, Deputy Director of the International Training Institute; Dr. Nguyen Phuoc Tam, Deputy Head of the Chinese Language Department; and all students in the new specialized Chinese Language Preparatory Class.

At the ceremony, Professor Dr. Tran Hoa Hien, former Educational Counselor at the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Ho Chi Minh City, expressed joy about the deepening cooperation between Tra Vinh University and Taiwanese universities. He emphasized the important role of foreign languages, especially Chinese, in expanding learning and career opportunities, while encouraging students to actively study to become cultural and intellectual ambassadors in the future.

On this occasion, Dr. Nguyen Huy Thong, Deputy Director of the International Training Institute, thanked Taiwanese partners in general and especially Kun Shan University of Technology for providing scholarship support for the Chinese Language Preparatory Class, while committing that the International Training Institute will always accompany and create a high-quality learning environment for students.

This first course has a total of 66 registered students, divided into two classes. With a total duration of 240 hours, the course is expected to last until the end of January 2026, after which students will register to take the TOCFL A2 certification exam.

Le Hoang Vu, a Civil Engineering student at Tra Vinh University representing students in the Chinese Language Preparatory Class, shared his excitement about participating in the program and expressed gratitude to Taiwan’s Ministry of Education, the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Ho Chi Minh City, Kun Shan University of Technology, and Tra Vinh University, along with all the teachers who organized this Chinese Language Preparatory Class and provided students with this extremely valuable learning opportunity.
