TVU – On April 2, 2025, Tra Vinh University signs a cooperation agreement with the Center for Women’s Development in the Mekong Delta (CWD Mekong) to support women and foster sustainable community development in the region. The signing ceremony will occur at the Tra Vinh Business Incubator in Campus I on the university campus.

During the ceremony, Vice Rector Dr. Thach Thi Dan emphasised that the university consistently prioritizes gender and ethnic equality and improves student quality through various support policies for female and ethnic minority students. She states that the collaboration with CWD Mekong opens up practical opportunities for students and lecturers while contributing to sustainable community growth.

Ms. Phung Thi Phuong Khanh highlights the university’s strengths in community engagement, particularly in cultural exchange, ethnic arts, and public health programs. These areas form a solid foundation for empowering women and vulnerable groups.

Mr. Nguyen Van Vu An shares that TVU’s entrepreneurship activities have earned recognition from the provincial startup steering committee. Students actively participate in entrepreneurial clubs, online business groups, and the AI Club, winning over 20 awards at provincial and national competitions. He says this proves the university’s growing role in the regional startup ecosystem.

Ms. Ngo Thi Tuyet Em from CWD Mekong appreciates TVU’s efforts to support women from ethnic communities. She believes the partnership will generate lasting, positive impacts across the Mekong Delta and hopes to see more cultural spaces designed for youth that celebrate ethnic identity.

The two institutions agree to collaborate on several initiatives to support women and disadvantaged groups in the region. Their plans include livelihood development projects, entrepreneurship incubation programs for women, and training workshops on gender equality, as well as psychological support. They also plan to implement public communication campaigns, support victims of domestic violence, and organize life skills and family education classes. Additionally, social work students from Tra Vinh University will be offered internships at CWD Mekong, and short-term vocational training programs will be arranged for women in difficult circumstances.

Following the signing ceremony, delegates visit two model projects at Tra Vinh University: a cordyceps mushroom cultivation site and a wax coconut garden – both of which showcase the university’s innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainable development efforts.
