Tra Vinh University Party Committee holds VI Congress

On June 24, 2025, the Tra Vinh University Party Committee successfully holds its VI Congress for the 2025-2030 term. The Congress elects 15 members to the new Executive Committee, with Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Minh Hoa, Rector of Tra Vinh University, elected as Secretary of the Party Committee.

Mr. Nguyen Quynh Thien, Provincial Party Committee member, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Provincial People’s Committee Party Committee, and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, directs the Congress.

The event welcomes Mr. Nguyen Quynh Thien, Provincial Party Committee member, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Provincial People’s Committee Party Committee, and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, who directs the Congress. Also in attendance are Mr. Nguyen Van Tam, Provincial Party Committee member, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial People’s Committee Party Committee, and Mr. Lu Cong Tao, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the Inspection Committee of the Provincial People’s Committee Party Committee. Other provincial leaders include Mr. Bui Thanh Thuong, Provincial Party Committee member, Deputy Head of the Provincial Internal Affairs Committee; Mr. Kim Chi Hoa, Deputy Head of the Provincial Organization Committee; Ms. Kien Thi Minh Nguyet, Provincial Party Committee member, Deputy Head of the Provincial Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee; and Ms. Tran Thi Kim Phuong, Deputy Chairwoman of the Provincial Inspection Committee.

The Congress brings together 219 official delegates, representing over 1,050 party members from 40 affiliated party cells. In his opening speech, Professor Dr. Pham Tiet Khanh, Secretary of the V Party Committee and Chairman of the University Council, emphasizes that the VI Congress serves as an opportunity for the entire Party Committee to reflect on the past five years’ achievements and define strategic goals to build Tra Vinh University into a modern, green, innovative, and internationally integrated institution.

The political report highlights the Tra Vinh University Party Committee’s successful leadership in achieving and exceeding objectives set by the V Party Congress, noting significant accomplishments in political tasks, financial management, infrastructure investment, and digital transformation. The university currently offers 10 doctoral programs, 19 master’s programs, 50 undergraduate programs, and one college program, along with various specialized training programs. Over 85% of graduates find employment. The university invests more than 195 billion VND in key projects like the Institute of Biotechnology and the Center for National Defense-Security Education. In scientific research, Tra Vinh University publishes 1,309 domestic and 108 international articles, with 322 indexed in WoS and Scopus, securing one patent and three utility solutions. International cooperation expands with 37 signed agreements, facilitating student exchanges with countries such as Israel, Taiwan, and France. The university earns high rankings in prestigious evaluations, including Top 200 in UI GreenMetric, 42nd globally in WURI, first in innovation culture, and 10th in AI in education, with 27 international quality accredited training programs. For innovation and entrepreneurship, the university supports 744 startup ideas and implements 81 projects, receiving numerous awards and ranking 11th globally in entrepreneurship according to WURI. Community outreach activities, such as health check-ups and blood donations, remain effective.

Key tasks include streamlining the organizational structure, effectively preventing ideological degradation, mobilizing resources for a healthy educational environment, and ensuring rapid, harmonious, and sustainable development. Breakthrough initiatives focus on developing high-quality staff, promoting administrative reform, applying science and technology, fostering digital and green transformation, and strengthening discipline and oversight. Mr. Nguyen Quynh Thien, in his directive speech, commends Tra Vinh University’s achievements, particularly in Party building, training, scientific research, international cooperation, and quality assurance, highlighting the university’s increasing prestige and contribution to the province’s sustainable development. He urges the new Executive Committee to continue fostering solidarity, innovation, and leadership, focusing on political education, high-quality human resource training, scientific and technological research, comprehensive digital transformation, and developing a green and digital university model. He expects the new Executive Committee to effectively lead the university’s strong development, meeting the demands of the new situation, especially as the province aims for deeper integration and regional development links.
