TVU – Tra Vinh University conducts a heartfelt visit to the Vietnamese Heroic Mother, Nguyen Thi Sy. It distributes Tet gifts to disadvantaged families in its two adopted communes, Phong Thanh and Phong Phu, in Cau Ke district. The visit on January 14 carries special significance during the Year of the Snake 2025, expressing profound gratitude to heroes, martyrs, and citizens who have made vital contributions to national development and defence.
The delegation is led by Dr. Thach Thi Dan, Standing Committee Member of the Party Committee and Vice-Rector of Tra Vinh University, accompanied by Mrs. Quach Thi Vu Hue, Party Committee Member and Head of Party Committee’s Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department; Mrs. Chau Thi Truc Ly, Party Committee Member and Chief of University Council Office; and Mrs. Tieu Ngoc Linh, Deputy Head of Finance Department.
During the visit, the delegation expresses warm concerns about the health and living conditions of Vietnamese Heroic Mother Nguyen Thi Sy. Dr. Thach Thi Dan conveys sincere gratitude and deep appreciation for the tremendous sacrifices the mothers and heroic martyrs made in the struggle for national liberation and reunification.
On the occasion of the 95th anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam’s founding (February 3, 1930 – February 3, 2025) and the Lunar New Year, the university presents 30 gift packages, each valued at 500,000 VND, to disadvantaged residents in Phong Thanh and Phong Phu communes of Cau Ke district.
Speaking at the gift-giving ceremony, Mr. Truong Thanh De, Party Secretary of Phong Thanh commune, expresses gratitude on behalf of the local government to Tra Vinh University for its practical support to residents. He notes that the university has been instrumental in helping locals enhance their scientific and technical knowledge for production improvement, providing scholarships to disadvantaged students, supporting health insurance for residents, and donating computers. He encourages households to continue their efforts to improve their lives, develop production, and contribute to building an increasingly prosperous community.
