TVU – In 2022, in Vietnam, 3 universities are participating in RUR evaluation and ranking: Can Tho University, and Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology. Ho Chi Minh City and Tra Vinh University.
The Round University Ranking (RUR) is a world university ranking based in Moscow (Russia) using data provided by Thomson Reuters, which evaluates the annual performance of 1100 of the world’s top universities from 82 countries.
RUR started to evaluate and rank universities in the world in 2010. In the early years, there were about 600 universities in the world participating in the evaluation and ranking and up to now the number of participating universities has increased. and expanded to many countries around the world.
RUR Ranking focuses on evaluating and ranking 6 fields: (Humanities), life sciences (Life Sciences), natural sciences (Natural Sciences), technical sciences (Technical Sciences), social sciences ( Social Sciences), and Health Sciences (Medical Sciences). Combined with 4 main activity groups: teaching (40%), research (40%), international diversity (10%), and financial sustainability (10%), in 20 indicators distributed.
The RUR Ranking is designed as a rating system to provide comprehensive information about university performance to students, the academic community, university administrators, and policymakers. Currently, in Vietnam, there are 3 universities ranked by RUR: Can Tho University, and Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology. Ho Chi Minh City and Tra Vinh University.

Tra Vinh University has been in the Top 200 universities with a green educational environment and sustainable development investment for many years in a row – according to UI GreenMetric Ranking and Top 100 of WURI Ranking 2022 for society. Currently, the University is at the TOP in the Mekong Delta with 13 industries recognized for international quality accreditation according to FIBAA and AUN-QA, ABET standards and is expanding to accredit the remaining disciplines. |
