(TVU) – In the morning of September 9, 2019, Tra Vinh University solemnly holds the Opening ceremony of the new academic year 2019-2020 and receives the Second Class Labor Medal.
In the opening ceremony of the new academic year 2019-2020, Assoc.Prof. Dr. Pham Tiet Khanh, Rector of Tra Vinh University reviews some highlight results of the university in the last school year.
The outcomes which are mentioned above include: the inaugurating of Tra Vinh University Hospital and its officially operating; Successfully organizing the international Conference on “the 4th Asia-Australia Dairy Goats, 2018”, attracting over 200 scientists and representatives from 18 countries; successfully organizing Vietnam – Japan cultural exchange program; being in the top 100 most worthy universities in Vietnam and ranked 22 according to Webometrics rankings, being one of two universities in Vietnam which is in the top 300 most sustainable developing and eco-friendly universities in the world (according to UI Green Metric World University Ranking).
In August 2019, Tra Vinh University welcome an evaluation team to formally survey the quality of education and training according to the standards of the Ministry of Education and Training. The survey result showed that Tra Vinh University has met the new quality standards of the Ministry of Education and Training towards the AUN approach. At the same time, the University submitted a quality accreditation of four programs in European-standard (FIBAA) and continued to participate in programs according to AUN and ABET standards.
In August, Tra Vinh University officially becomes the member of CDIO, a framework of education in universities for engineering disciplines around the world.
Training activities and scientific research among lecturers and students of the University in the last school year also achieved positive results,
From the achieved results, together with the efforts of all domestic and international officials, lecturers, students, experts, volunteers, and the consideration of leaders at all levels as well as the support of local and foreign enterprises and partners, Tra Vinh University has honored to receive the Second Class Labor Medal of the State President on the opening ceremony of the new academic year.
Assoc.Prof. Dr. Pham Tiet Khanh expresses his happiness and appreciation for the contributions of each member of the University. On this occasion, the Rector calls on the staffs and students to continue to unite, send more efforts and overcome difficulties to successfully complete the tasks, to strive to develop a career in new journey in all fields and officially signaled the start of the new academic year 2019 – 2020 with new achievement and success.
During the opening ceremony, domestic and foreign sponsors come to attend and awarded more than 90 scholarships with hundreds of millions of VND to students who overcome difficulties in studying well. At the opening Day, the university awards certificates of merit to the valedictorian and salutatorian who achieved highest results in the regular university and college entrance examination in 2019.
Besides, the faculties and units in the university have organized a variety of playing activities among students, especially new students.
