Tra Vinh University strengthens educational and health cooperation with Svay Rieng Province

(TVU) – From February 22nd to 24th, 2025, a high-level delegation from Svay Rieng Province, Cambodia, led by Mr. Nhem Sary, Deputy Governor, and Dr. Kuch Sitha, Director of the Provincial Health Department, visited Tra Vinh University to explore and enhance bilateral educational and healthcare collaboration.

The delegation engaged in a comprehensive series of meetings with prominent Tra Vinh Province leaders, including Mr. Kim Ngoc Thai, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and Mr. Le Van Han, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee. These discussions provided a strategic platform to review and reinforce existing cooperative relationships, emphasising Tra Vinh University’s pivotal role in training medical professionals for Svay Rieng Province.

Mr. Nhem Sary expressed profound gratitude for Tra Vinh University’s longstanding commitment to training generations of doctors and nurses, acknowledging the significant impact on improving healthcare services in Cambodia. The leaders from both provinces reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining a sustainable, collaborative relationship that extends beyond immediate educational objectives.

During the focused meeting with Tra Vinh University on February 24th, the delegation addressed critical issues, particularly the strategic need for continued medical human resource training and Vietnamese language programs. These initiatives aim to facilitate Cambodian students’ seamless integration into Vietnamese academic environments and professional settings.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Hoa, Rector of Tra Vinh University, demonstrated proactive leadership by directing relevant university units to develop a comprehensive, long-term cooperation plan. The proposed strategy prioritizes medical education quality and aligns with Svay Rieng Province’s developmental requirements.

The visit represented a significant diplomatic and educational milestone, embodying the shared commitment to enhancing cross-border educational and healthcare collaboration. Focusing on mutual goals and sustainable development, Tra Vinh University and Svay Rieng Province effectively strengthen the friendship between Vietnam and Cambodia.
