TVU – Tra Vinh University fosters international cooperation by hosting a high-level delegation from East Java province, Indonesia, focusing on environmental and agricultural initiatives.
TVU welcomes Indonesian environmental experts to enhance cross-border collaboration on October 23, 2024. The delegation, headed by Ms. Carrina Lim, Regional Manager of The Water Agency, includes more than ten natural resources and environmental management specialists.
Dr. Nguyen Huy Thong, Deputy Director of TVU’s International Training Institute, and Dr. Tran Thi Ngoc Bich, Deputy Director of the Institute of Environmental Science and Technology, lead the university’s engagement with the Indonesian delegation. The meeting highlights TVU’s commitment to expanding its international partnerships and addressing regional environmental challenges.
During the discussions, TVU showcases its achievements in scientific research and international cooperation while exploring new opportunities for collaboration. Ms. Lim emphasizes the potential for joint initiatives, particularly in environmental research, advanced technology application, and agricultural development projects benefiting Tra Vinh province and the Mekong Delta.
The university arranges a comprehensive program for the delegation, including a campus tour and a field visit to the water storage model at Con Chim (Bird Islet), Hoa Minh commune. This practical demonstration underscores TVU’s role in developing climate-adaptive agricultural solutions.
The visit extends beyond the university, with the delegation participating in productive sessions with provincial authorities. These meetings focus on water resources management, environmental conservation, and sustainable agricultural practices, demonstrating TVU’s crucial role in facilitating regional development initiatives.
As a testament to the success of this international exchange, Associate Professor Dr. Diep Thanh Tung presents certificates of completion to the delegation members, marking a new chapter in TVU’s growing international partnerships.
This collaboration between TVU and East Java environmental experts represents a significant step forward in addressing shared environmental challenges and promoting sustainable development in the region.
