Tra Vinh University strengthens ties with Philippine Institutions

TVU – Tra Vinh University (TVU) takes a significant step towards international collaboration as it hosts a delegation from prominent Philippine universities on October 14, 2024. This meeting marks a new chapter in cross-border educational partnerships between Vietnam and the Philippines.

The visiting delegation includes key figures from the Philippine academic landscape: Dr. Joan M. Belga, Vice President of Iloilo State University of Fisheries, Science, and Technology (ISUFST); Dr. Joanna Paula Binas, ISUFST Director of Extension Services and Community Development; and Mr. Rodolfo Sabas, Director and Founder of WYNIM Educational Consulting.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Diep Thanh Tung, Vice Rector of TVU, leads the welcoming committee, accompanied by representatives from various university departments. Dr. Tung provides a comprehensive overview of TVU’s academic offerings, research initiatives, and international cooperation programs, emphasizing the university’s readiness to support Filipino lecturers, interns, and students in future exchanges.

The meeting focuses on establishing a formal cooperation agreement encompassing several key areas: Exchange programs for lecturers, interns, and students; Regular seminars for English program instructors; Sharing of educational materials and training equipment; Organizing international exhibitions, workshops, and joint publications; Collaborative research and development of undergraduate and postgraduate programs in agriculture, aquaculture, culture, social sciences, and technology; Dr. Joan M. Belga expresses gratitude for TVU’s warm reception and voices hope for swift implementation of these cooperative activities. The proposed memorandum of cooperation aims to facilitate visits, study opportunities, and experience exchanges between the institutions.

This burgeoning partnership between TVU and Philippine universities is poised to impact high-quality human resource training and scientific research significantly. It is a testament to the growing educational cooperation between Vietnam and the Philippines.
